Mods ride in to Telford for charity bash
Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy a day of Mod music to raise money for a national cancer charity.
The Duke of York in Oakengates is the first pub in the borough to hold a fundraiser as part of the March of the Mods.
A full day of music was held at the pub on Market Street to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The pub is already home to the Telford Dukes scooter club and members turned up with their rides to give the day an authentic feel.
During the day on Sunday, there were performances by eight live bands, singers and DJs, with some travelling from as far afield as London and Liverpool to take part.
Tickets priced at £8 sold out in the week before the event. Landlady Julie Barton, who spent most of the event behind the barbecue, said on Sunday: "We're glad it is finally here, everyone has been rushing around trying to get thins organised.
Landlord Ian Barton added: "It was a great feeling to announce that we had sold out of tickets."
In total the event raised £2,360.10 for the charity.
There was also be a raffle during the event, for which some prizes were donated by the Co-op.
The March of the Mods is a national charity campaign to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Started in 2012, it encourages people to hold their own music events in March to raise money for the charity. Last year the national event raised £100,000.
