The event, which raises money for Wistanstow Primary School, was held at Wistanstow Hall, near Craven Arms.

On display were a wide range of vintage and classic motorcycles along with a wide selection of auto jumble stalls selling everything from pistons to pin badges.

This year the guest of honour was Peter Williams – a renowned former grand prix motorcycle road racer.

Organiser Leigh Francis, who has been running the event for about six years, today hailed Sunday's event a success.

"It has gone really well.

"We have had about 1,500 people here, which is slightly up on previous years.

"The oldest bike we had this year was one from 1915," she said.

"The reports we get back from people are that they like it because it is a charity event that supports the school.

"We also never over price people so they like the fact that they don't feel like they are being ripped off.

"There is a really friendly atmosphere and the word gets around that it is a friendly village show.

"We have raised £80,000 for the school over the years.

"We make about £9,000 from each event which equates to a profits of about £7,000."

Leigh took over the running of the event from founder Ron Maund. I have a child in the school and when Ron decided to retire and step back I thought it was important for this event to continue and so I stepped in," she added.
