But Daniel Adomako has arrived in Telford and is hoping to make new contacts in the borough.

Originally from Ghana, Daniel and his family moved to Italy in 2004.

A passionate singer, he tried his luck on the television series, before going on to record an album. He has now moved to Dawley with his family.

He said: "My sister always wanted to study here so my dad decided to move to the UK and we have friends and family here already so he thought of coming to Telford. We're a very tight family, so I couldn't help but come with my family to Telford." Daniel has been in the county since September but said he has been travelling a lot since he came.

He now wants to develop his singing career in the UK. He said: "Singing in Africa is very common, like we all sing, it's like breathing for us. I started in my church choir and then we moved to Italy.

"I couldn't speak Italian, so all I used to do at school was disturb the classes by singing all the time. Our music teacher ran and conducted the choir so she thought I could help with that. She invited me along and I liked it.

"In 2009 I went in for X factor Italia. I got through four auditions but it didn't go well. I decided to try Italia's Got Talent.

"The first audition went very well, I got a standing ovation from the audience and the judges were crying."

He told how after winning he signed a contract with Sony music Italia but the album was entirely in Italian and didn't do well outside Italy.

He added that he split with the label and now wants to do more international work.
