Lambs born at Market Drayton farm in run up to Easter celebrations

More than 100 lambs have been born at a community-owned farm during the lead-up to a spring celebration event.

Fordhall Organic Farm, near Market Drayton, has a series of Easter activities for children over the school break and a spring fair on April 23.

Tenant farmer Ben Hollins said: "We're having a very successful lambing season here at Fordhall.

"The lambs will be on display at the spring fair on April 23 as always.

"We have some new piglets out and about and some baby calves too."

There will also be a birds of prey display, a visit from Jester Jack, welly wanging, tombolas, pond dipping and story-telling during the spring fair.

Entry is £2.50 for adults and £2 for children.

Elsewhere on the farm there is an abundance of Easter activities for children going on.

Tomorrow will include woodland adventures, bushcraft activities, Easter Egg rolling and the chance to try a bit of gardening.

Sessions run 10am to noon, and 1pm to 3pm costing £3.50 per child.

There is the opportunity to help find Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's creation, the Gruffalo, on April 19 in the woods. To book on any event call 01630 638696.
