St George's Day 2017: Horse-back riders make their way into Ironbridge
Knights, princesses, and even a dragon rode into Ironbridge on horse-back to mark St George's Day.
Tourists visiting the world heritage site were able to witness the spectacle as a trail of young riders made their way over the Iron Bridge and along The Wharfage, many dressed as England's patron saint.
Children from Telford Horse Riding and Access donned their best costumes for the event, putting on a show to celebrate the occasion. Andrea Edge, whose daughter Stacey led the parade said: "We thought it would be good to celebrate St George's Day on horseback and what better way to do it than for the children to be the stars of the show, dressed up on their ponies.
"It was wonderful to see all the children having such a fantastic time and putting on such a great show for all those who were visiting the area."
The group's next guided ride is on May 14 and will start in Ketley.
Meanwhile, St Georges honoured its namesake with a fun-day on Saturday, which saw a rider head into the square at 12pm to kick-start the festivities.
The event was held at the parish church on Church Street and included crafts, a dragon storyteller and face painting
