Thousands turn out for Shropshire County Show - in pictures and video
From rare farm breeds to the latest tractors, the best of the region’s agriculture was on display at the Shropshire County Show.
Farmers and families alike turned out for the big event at the West Mid Showground.
As well as the traditional farming displays, a wide range of family entertainment was on offer during Saturday’s show. There was live music, craft tents and a motorbike display team which last appeared at the annual show in the 1990s – making it a rare treat for spectators.
Charities were able to collect money through the show’s stalls, while farmers and horse owners looking for new equipment had plenty to choose from between the trade stalls on offer.
Seb Slater, of Shrewsbury Business Improvement District, said: “Having an exciting schedule of events in Shrewsbury helps build our profile regionally and nationally as an energised and culturally interesting place – not only to live, but to come and visit. Events help attract new audiences to Shrewsbury to discover all it has to offer.”

Councillor Alan Mosley, leader of Shrewsbury Town Council, said: “I am delighted that these major events are taking place in the town, it is great for the residents and the visitor economy.”
A packed programme of performances included the Wirral Marching Piping Band and a display of horses and carriages, as well as the usual young farmer floats.
