Host of musical events planned for Telford museums
A host of events are planned for July at Telford's museums.
Step back in time, don vintage best, and go along to a nostalgic 1930s supper and song musical evening in the Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion at Blists Hill Victorian Town.
The lively evening is one of a number of events planned across the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust's locations.
The night includes a two-course meal of creamed chicken with spinach and new potatoes followed by a sherry trifle and tea or coffee; a vegetarian option will be available.
The museum’s resident duo will regale the crowd, at the event on July 28 with a host of popular songs from the 1930s.
The event will take place from 6.30pm to 10pm
Tickets at £25 per adult must be pre-booked by calling Nikki Birch on 01785 252247 or email nikkib@jenkinsonscaterers.co.uk.
And it isn't the only musical extravaganza planned, on July 15 and 16, the annual Brass Band Festival will return to the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron.
The Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival will take place outdoors on The Green showcasing some of the finest brass bands from Shropshire and the surrounding counties.
The free family event is amongst the largest, non-competitive brass band festivals in the country.
Performances begin at 10am on both days and continue until 5pm on Saturday and 6.30pm on Sunday.
The programme includes a ticketed evening concert on 15 July in support of the Severn Hospice. Bar drinks and light refreshments will be available to purchase or bring a picnic.

The museums will also be hosting a range of ceramic workshops, tile decorating workshops and pewter casting and paddle boat making workshops starting in July and running throughout the summer holidays.
