A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Attingham Park on June 23.

The Pantaloons will be performing the Shakespeare play, just two days after the summer solstice at the National Trust property on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.

The Pantaloons’ hilarious take on this classic will be performed by a cast of just five actor-musicians playing all the roles.

This fast-paced is filled with audience interaction, contemporary references, slapstick and original live music all nestled comfortably within Shakespeare’s beautiful verse.

Rebekah Ingham, Events Office at Attingham Park, said “We’re looking forward to welcoming the Pantaloons back to Attingham again – their reputation precedes them and we’ve already sold over half the tickets for the performance.

"The performance starts at 7pm, with gates open at 6pm to give theatre-goers chance to settle down on the grass in front of the mansion before The Pantaloons take to the stage.”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream kicks off Attingham’s programme of summer evenings of entertainment, with an open air production of Peter Pan, and two evenings of outdoor film showings taking place later during the summer.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is at 7pm. Tickets cost £15 per adult and £10 per child.

To book tickets you call 01743 708170 or head online to nationaltrust.org.uk/attingham-park/whats- on, a 5 per cent booking fee applies.

Later in the summer, Attingham will also be hosting Chapterhouse Theatre Company as they perform J M Barrie’s much loved tale of Peter Pan on August 4.
