About 300 cars attended this year's event which had its name changed from the Wharf Classic Car Show to the Simon Beresford Car Festival.

Sadly Mr Beresford, 58, of Market Drayton, died last year after being diagnosed with sarcoma, a cancerous tumour.

He was was the founder of the event which has grown in popularity over the last 22 years

His family have now vowed to keep the show going in his memory.

This year's event was once again held at the Wharf Tavern in Goldstone, near Market Drayton.

Helen Beresford, Simon's wife, said: "It was a very successful evening.

"We raised £1,000 for Severn Hospice which I have already taken to them. It is a great cause and the money was gratefully received.

"We had two planes who did a fly past and one did an air display which added to the evening.

"A lot of people came, I couldn't even estimate how many people were there.

"The weather stayed fine and all-in-all it went very well and I think we did Simon proud."
