Hawker Yard will be transformed into a Mexican street food festival with a live DJ and themed Patrón cocktails crafted by local bartenders.

Mixologist, Thomas Matthews of The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge, will be serving up his own creation, Patrón British Summer Time, garnished with an apple fan and mint sprig. This refreshing cocktail with be alongside the Patrónic (a tequila-interpretation of the classic Gin and Tonic), a classic Patrón Margarita and the refreshingly fruity Patrón Paloma, made with grapefruit soda.

Talking of his creation, Thomas Matthews, Assistant Bar Manager of The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge, said: “I wanted to create something that would be super refreshing for the British Summer, even though it only tends to last a week, but also build in layers of flavour.

"The bergamot and apple really boost the summer vibes but the gentian and quinine provide a moreish, dry finish to the drink that makes you want to keep sipping. The curvature of the apple garnish holds beautiful synergy with the iconic Birmingham Bull Ring building. All of the flavours used compliment the Patrón Reposado tequila and its delicious balance of oak and citrus.

The ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will feature an interactive mural photo wall, take a picture on your phone and tag using the #PatronTheSummer hashtag and your picture will automatically be printed out on site.

The Patrón The Summer initiative will be touring the UK and US this summer, for more information please visit www.patronthesummer.com
