Thousands rock up for Market Drayton park party - in photos
More than 2,500 people got into the spirit of the 1980's at an annual music concert.
People travelled from far and wide to Audlem's 16th Party on the Park, near Market Drayton, on Saturday.
The main act was Europe’s premier 1980s tribute band ’80s Mania’ who performed more than 30 smash hits.
Numbers included hits from Duran Duran, The Human League, Kim Wilde, Culture Club, Wham!, Dead or Alive, Madonna, Spandau Ballet, and Cyndi Lauper.
What started out as a sedate evening of proms has transformed over the last five years into an extravaganza of tribute acts that several thousand people from the surrounding towns and villages have come to enjoy.
Catherine Reece-Gresty, one of the organisers, said: "The event was attended by 2,500 people and more people than ever before dressed up for the occasion.
"We had one group that was the whole of the village people. There was also the sugar puff monster, Mr T and a member of the Hi de Hi team - very funny.
"The effort that people went to was amazing.
"People travelled from far and wide, with people of all ages attending.
"A group of 17 year olds told the organisers how they were staggered by how much fun they had and that their entire group had enjoyed themselves
"A canal boater from Liverpool also said that he couldn't believe how an event so good could take place outside of Liverpool.
"But the biggest effort and thanks is to the group of volunteers that put the event together.
"It is a year in planning that takes dedication and time from a small group. The volunteers who help set up and clean up are just amazing.
"They work tirelessly for three days and even though the party didn't finish until 11pm, there were some on site on Sunday morning at 4.30am beginning the clean up. Incredible. We all want to say a huge thank you to them.”
