Telfood Feastival: Producers line up for food, drink and fun
More than 100 of the region’s best food, drink and craft producers will descend on Telford next week for a huge food festival.
Telfood Feastival takes place in Southwater QEII Arena, Telford Town Park on September 2 and 3 between 10am and 5pm.
It has been organised by Shropshire Festivals and will feature demonstrations from the region’s best chefs on the Lanyon Bowdler demonstration stage, live music, talks and tastings.
The event also features a tasting theatre courtesy of Sofood!
Shows at the theatre include party food, chicken dishes, picnic essentials, cheese and drink combinations and desserts.
Beth Heath, director of fun for Shropshire Festivals, said last minute preparations were going well and work will be starting on Tuesday to put up the marquees and stages.
She said: "The tasting theatre will be the first of its kind for the county. "We've also got piglets coming along, a big sandpit area, we've got lots more stuff for the kids and a huge music stage. "We've tweaked a few things from last time and made it better.
"It's really exciting for us. I really want people to start thinking of Telford as a foodie destination."
Children will enjoy getting mucky in the hands-on cookery area, learn circus skills, meet some creepy crawlies with Dudley Zoo, practice cycling and tennis skills, have a go at go-karting, bubble football and much more.
There will be a climbing wall, soft archery, crossbar coaching, pottery painting, Leo Loco’s Circus and the Kids Cookery Bus.
Tickets are £6 adults, £2 children and £13 for a family ticket.
Under twos go free.
Tickets can be bought on the door and give entry for one day only.
The gates open at 10am until 5pm each day.
The festival takes place on the doorstep of Southwater, which boasts an 11-screen cinema and a host of restaurants, on the edge of Telford’s shopping centre and the award-winning Telford Town Park.
