Red Arrows spotted by residents ahead of Midlands and Shropshire displays
The unmistakable Red Arrows were photographed flying over houses.
The 11 RAF planes were captured flying in formation over Slindon, near Eccleshall yesterday (aug 28).
On Sunday, they performed at Dunsfold in Surrey as well as Rhyl in Denbighshire. It is believed they were making back from Rhyl on the north-east coast of Wales at the time and they could possibly be making their way back to their air base at Scampton in Lincoln.
Over the weekend, they also performed a flypast at the Salop Steam Rally in Shropshire. They wowed crowds on Sunday before heading off to Rhyl.
They only do a full display once in the West Midlands and it is at Cosford in Shropshire where the air show took place early June.
If residents missed out on the show this encounter where they flew over houses was the closest they could get to the aerobatic team without visiting other shows.
They are expected to return for the Cosford Air Show next summer on June 10th when it will be the region’s official RAF100 celebration where they will pay tribute to the past, present and future of the Royal Air Force.
This years show was a massive success with over 50,000 people attending to see the world famous team in a six hour flying display.
Next month, visitors at the RAF Museum Cosford will get the chance to go in the cockpit of some impressive aircarft and feel what it was like to fly.
It will take place from 6pm to 9pm from September 15 to 16.It is also the 'Summer of Spies' for young secretagents to enjoy workshops throughout the summer.
The Red Arrows' next performance at Bournemouth in Dorset on August 31.
It is the team's 53 season for the planes that are officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team.
Their show includes a variety of stunts to have the audience in awe such as the spitfire roll, a heart and a hurricane.
Throughout the summer, there are 60 performances scheduled across the UK along with some international performances.
It started on June 3 in Devon and will finish on September 17.
International appearances include Finland, Belgium, Greece.
