Greg Davies kicks off Shrewsbury performances
Comedian Greg Davies has kicked off his five-night run of performances in Shrewsbury.
The star, who grew up in Wem, performed his You Magnificent Beast show at Theatre Severn last night to a sold-out audience.
And the BAFTA-nominated star will donate proceeds from the performances at Theatre Severn to a local charity.
It is his first tour for four years, which will take him all around England, Scotland and Wales on a number of dates until mid-December.
Just weeks ago, Mr Davies also performed at the first annual Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival which drew in more than 1,700 people.
Joe Lycett and Tom Wrigglesworth also performed at the festival.
Since 2012, Greg Davies has appeared in BBC comedy Cuckoo, which stars Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner, Tamla Kari and Helen Baxendale. He also widely known for his role as Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners
He has written and starred in Channel 4 sitcom Man Down, a series that follows the struggles of a teacher that has broken up with his girlfriend.
His stand-up experience has made Greg a regular on TV panel shows including Would I Lie To You, and he has also featured on episodes of Live At The Apollo.
