Winners of a town’s annual in-bloom contest were rewarded at a ceremony.
The winner of each category of Market Drayton In Bloom received a prize and a trophy at an awards ceremony held in the Royal British Legion on Wednesday.
Festival Drayton Centre won the “best public building” category and other winners included Goose Fields for “best group dwelling”, Market Drayton Junior School for “best school”, Cooke & Thomas for “best shop” and Salopian Star for “best licensed premises”.
Joe Holding won “best front garden”, Carole and Mike Higgins “best back garden”, David Rollinson “best allotment/veg”, Tim Hayward “best water garden” and Michael Weaver “best hanging basket”.
Kate Harvey, assistant clerk at the town council, said: "The competition was well participated.
"There were about 30 entries of a very high standard.
"I would like to give special thanks to Val Taylor and her husband Dave, Mike Smith and Matt Erwin who were excellent judges.
"They had a very tricky job deciding on a winner.
"The awards evening was great and there was a lovely atmosphere. Special thanks to Brenda Gould who supplied the catering at the last minute - it was great.
"We are hoping to hold the event again next year as it is nice for the council to give something back to residents.
"The town has looked lovely this year so well done to everyone who took part."
Councillor Matthew Erwin, town mayor, said he was very impressed with the standard of entries this year.
“I was one of four judges this year and we all agreed the standard of entrants into this year’s in bloom was incredibly high,” he said.
“It was very tough deciding on the placing as all the entrants had obviously put a lot of love, thought and effort into their gardens.
“The businesses and schools were also very impressive with one licensed premises having almost 50 hanging baskets, troughs and planters!
“I would like to thank everyone for entering and encourage even more to give it a go next year.”
