Paramore, Genting Arena, Birmingham - make a night of it

Off to see Misery Business stars Paramore at the Genting Arena in Birmingham this weekend? Why not make a night of it with The Ticket's top tips:

MEAL TICKET

Crushcrushcrush on a range of restaurants at Resorts World Birmingham, located directly opposite the Genting Arena on the same site.

If you fancy something a little more low key, options at the huge complex include Nando's, Las Iguanas, TGI Fridays, The World Bar and the Sports Bar.

Looking for somewhere a little more upmarket? Other restaurants at Resorts World include Pizza Express, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, High Line New York Bar and Lounge, The Sky Bar and Waters Restaurant.

Las Iguanas, which fits nicely somewhere in the middle, is offering two-for-one deals currently on mains and vegan mains. The offer on normal mains ends on Sunday, and the vegan offer runs till January 31 from Sunday to Thursday.

BAR STAR

Daydreaming of a stunning bar in which to enjoy some drinks ahead of the show?

Why not try the beautiful High Line New York Bar and Lounge, which specialises in an array of milkshakes and cocktails.

If you get peckish while you're there, this bar also offers an event menu specifically designed to save gig-goers time ahead of the show.

This bar is open from midday till 11pm on Sundays.

World Bar is also a great option, where a large range of drinks are served - from ale and IPA, to dark lager, stout and porter. The watering hole also offers 'tasting crates' where beer lovers can sample six different tipples. There is also the option to 'design' your own gin.

If you're still feeling like more entertainment after the concert, Genting Arena at Resorts World is open 24-hours a day. The casino boasts roulette, blackjack three-card poker and baccarat. It also has 100 slot machines, VIP private rooms and learn to play sessions (though these do need to be booked in advance). There is also the Fahrenheit Restaurant onsite and a Sports Bar.

SLUMBER SPLURGE

The Genting Hotel at Resorts World is a luxurious option which claims to offer ' a wealth of luxury and attentive service from the moment you step through the doors'.

The venue offers 170 four-star suites and eight five-star suites.

It also has its own Santai Spa, which offers a 15-metre Pool with hydrotherapy jets, mosaic hot stone loungers, a salt cave, a sauna, an outdoor terrace jacuzzi with lakeside views, a fitness suite, 'state-of-the-art' treatment rooms and a bar. Treatments on offer include a range of facials, massages, manicures and pedicures, waxing and more.

CHEAP SLEEP

Holiday Inn Express Birmingham NEC is located just a stone's throw from the Genting Arena.

For Sunday night, the hotel's website (at the time of writing this piece) offers double and twin rooms from £54.31.

Rooms include wifi, as well as breakfast In The Mourning. This will be a 'limited grab and go' breakfast however, as the hotel's reception, bar and lounge are currently undergoing refurbishment.

ON THE MOVE

PARK UP

The NEC site which has more than 16,000 parking spaces. On arrival, follow electronic directional signage to your event which will lead you to the nearest available car park. Parking must be paid for, though there is a pre-paid system in place to save on time.

RAILY EASY

The Genting Arena is just a few moments' walk from Birmingham International rail station. If the station near you does not go there, Birmingham New Street has regular connecting trains to International.
