Jersey Boys smashes Box Office records at Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre

Jersey Boys has become the biggest selling show ever at the New Alexandra Theatre.

The West End smash hit's recent run at the Birmingham venue smashed all previous box office records with a 95 percent occupancy at the theatre from December 16, 2017 to January 6, 2018.

The latest figures break the previous record at the theatre which was also set by the first tour of Jersey Boys back in 2014.

Lisa Mart, general manager of the New Alexandra Theatre, said: “A total of 31,700 people came to see the show.

“We were absolutely honoured to be the venue to open the second UK and Ireland tour of Jersey Boys.

"We knew Birmingham would welcome the show back with open arms and the audiences did not disappoint.

"It was a fantastic finish to a wonderful year at the New Alex and we can’t wait to continue this success in to 2018.”

Jersey Boys tells the true story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

The New Jersey quartet were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and sold 175 million records worldwide, all before they turned 30.

The show has won 57 major awards worldwide including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

It features hit songs such as December 1963 (Oh What a Night), Big Girls Don't Cry, My Eyes Adored You, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Bye Bye Baby and many more.
