The guitarist, who appeared on The Ticket's Unsigned page last July while releasing his latest album As I Live And Breathe, will be performing with his full band at Bilston's Robin 2 on February 22.

The man with the deceptively powerful voice will headline the venue at 10pm, ably supported by Dominic Malin at 8pm, Alex Vann and his band at 8.30pm and The Arrangements, who are on stage at 9.15pm.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he told the Express & Star. "I don't play shows with the band very often so it's really exciting. The guys in the band are excellent musicians and great friends, I really feel like they bring out something new in a lot of the songs.

"Plus, I've organised the whole line-up myself, so I'm really excited about seeing all three support acts play. Neither Dominic Malin or The Arrangements gig very often and are both excellent, so it's a real treat to get them to play.

"Alex Vann is one of my favourite songwriters, and I've not seen him play with his band for a long time too. Add to that The Robin is one of my favourite venues and it all adds up to a special night. Plus it's only a fiver!"

Sam is one for fans of the likes of Frank Turner, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon and Johnny Cash, while he also throws a lot of folk into the mix too.

"For those who haven't seen me before, I play songs about love, loss, reflection and politics. Playing with the band means I can really emphasise the dynamics of my songs and really go for it when it's warranted."

Tickets for the Robin 2 date, costing £5, are available from Sam's website.
