Birmingham show for Columbia Mills
Irish quintet Columbia Mills are heading out on their first ever UK headline tour this April to support the release of their debut album A Safe Distance To Watch.
Surfing to these shores on a wave of high acclaim from their native Ireland - the post-punk band arrive for a whistle-stop tour that takes in Birmingham's Sunflower Lounge on April 25.
To coincide with the tour, the band have finally confirmed the keenly anticipated UK release date for their debut album, produced by Rob Kirwan (Depeche Mode, U2, Glasvegas). It will be available on all formats from May 4.
A spokesperson for the band said: "With worthy comparisons to the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Depeche Mode and Joy Division the band have already become a word of mouth sensation across the water with a trail of sell-out shows to their name.”
Columbia Mills take their name from a building based on Dublin’s Quays. In the early 90s the building became a mecca for the illegal rave scene bringing people together from all walks of life and all musical tastes. It was all about inclusion, something Columbia Mills believe very strongly in.
