Birmingham show rescheduled for Worcester band Nuns of the Tundra
The Beast from the East put paid to their original scheduled show, but Worcester band Nuns of the Tundra will get a second chance to rock the O2 Institute.
The heavy snow that forced the cancellation of many cultural events over the weekend of March 2 to 4 stopped many fans getting to see the group on the Saturday. A hastily arranged alternative was put on at the nearby Sunflower Lounge, but many fans were unable to travel in for that either.
The O2 Institute urges ticket holders to hold on to their purchases as the new date will be April 13.
Nuns of the Tundra, Jump the Shark, The Arosa and Dead Dads Club were booked for the original gig at the Digbeth venue, but the support acts were not able to arrive at the venue due to dangerous driving conditions.
Nuns and Malvern-based Dead Dads Club, however, were able to join forces with two other weather-affected bands, Mallavora and The White Noise, to play a separate concert at the Sunflower Lounge organised by Birmingham Promoters.
Despite the initial problems, the show turned out to be another success for the Worcestershire quartet. Nuns bassist Jim Smith said: “The atmosphere at the Sunflower Lounge was one of the best we have had since our show at the BBC Introducing stage at Lakefest Festival at Croft Castle in August 2017. It was a fantastic experience and we didn’t want to get off the stage.”
Lead singer Troy Tittley added: "I could not be more thankful for the turnout. Despite the apocalyptic weather and our O2 Institute gig being postponed, the amazing people at the Sunflower Lounge saved the night, and made it one of the best nights we've experienced as a band."
For those without tickets who want to attend the rearranged date, they can be purchased for £6 here.
