How to make a night of it when you go and see Sam Smith at Birmingham Genting Arena

Why not make a night of it with The Ticket's top tips on where to eat, drink and stay before and after the show.

MEAL TICKET

Looking to eat out ahead of the concert? Located directly opposite the Genting Arena is Resorts World which boasts a range of bars and restaurants.

If you're after something fairly simple but a little different, TGI Fridays is located on the centre's lower ground floor and is open from 11.30am to 11pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The American style diner offers a wide range of different foods, as well as more than 50 different cocktails.

TGI Fridays' food menu boasts a range of starters and sharing platters. Mains include burgers, ribs, steaks, mixed meat meals, fajitas, pasta, salads and more.

BAR STAR

Grab a few drinks ahead of the show from Resorts World, where bars include High Line Bar, Sports Bar, The Sky Bar and The World Bar.

If you're catching the train to the Genting Arena, however, there are also options at New Street Rail Station's Grand Central.

Places to enjoy a tipple, soft drink or coffee at the city centre location include Caffe Concerto, Costa Coffee, Frizzenti, Fuel Juice Bar, and Joe and The Juice.

If you've got a Good Thing going and want to continue the night, Resorts World's Genting Casino is open 24 hours and has a Sports Bar with 18 large screens and 'luxurious private viewing booths'. The 100-seat venue is open from 11am till 3am, with last orders being taken at 2.30am. The bar also serves food until 2.30am should you get peckish. As the bar is part of the casino, it is open to over 18s only.

If you're heading back to the city centre after the show, Broad Street is also on offer with a range of bars and clubs, including Walkabout, Bierkeller, Reflex, Wetherspoons and many more.

Holiday Inn Express also has a newly refurbished bar and lounge serving drinks including wine, spirits, beer, specialty coffees and tea.

Guests can also order pizza 24-hours a day.

ON THE MOVE

PARK UP

Getting to the show by car? The NEC site which has more than 16,000 parking spaces. On arrival, follow electronic signs to your event which will lead you to the nearest available car park. Parking must be paid for, though there is a pre-paid system in place to save on time.

RAILY EASY

Taking the Midnight Train home? The Genting Arena is just a few moments’ walk from Birmingham International rail station. Birmingham New Street has regular connecting trains to International.
