Amy Langham, from LEGOLAND discovery centre Birmingham, said: "We went through a process of visiting all the landmarks in the Midlands and going around the cities picking great architectural buildings, even the ones that are challenging to build in LEGO.

She added: "We have been working with the designers and builders to make these buildings into a reality."

The centre is expected to open at Arena Birmingham in July. More than 5,000 applications were received for the position of master model builder, which is one of just 22 worldwide.
