Wet weather hits seasonal business as Telford's Exotic Zoo sees numbers fall by 50 per cent
A particularly wet summer has dampened visitor numbers at a Telford tourist attraction.
A warm June gave the UK economy a little lift almost two months ago, but with one of the wettest Julys on records extending its damp reach into August, the owner of Telford's Exotic Zoo has spoken of the impact the weather is having on visitor numbers.
Scott Adams said the summer holidays would usually see the zoo "buzzing" with visitors but the grey clouds have kept many inside.
Speaking as the weather - and footfall - begins to pick up, Scott said the correlation is unmistakable.
"The last couple of days have been a bit better, having a couple of days of sunshine have really shown the impact the weather has on visitor numbers," he said.
