Bonfire Night is set to go off with a bang across Shropshire with a variety of fireworks displays and entertainment for all the family.

Here, in chronological order, are our top picks of bonfires and firework displays happening across the region - get your gloves and woolly hats ready!

October 27 - Craven Arms

The Craven Arms Community bonfire and firework display returns for another year.

There will be a full bar, catering including a hog roast, and Sunshine Radio Street Team entertainment to kick off half term.

Tickets cost £2 for children, £3.50 for adults, and £10 for a family of two adults and two children.

Gates open at 5pm with the bonfire set to be lit at 7pm. Fireworks will start at 7.30pm.

November 2 to 4 - Drayton Manor, Tamworth

Whether you want to celebrate the ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ or merely boogie on down to British classics from Queen, Oasis or The Beatles - head to Drayton Manor for the Best Of British bonfire event.

Fitting with the theme there will be a series of culinary classics on offer such as fish and chips, pie and mash, strawberries and cream and even a good old curry.

Tickets cost £6 for children aged two to three, £23 for children aged four to 11, and £28 for adults aged 12 to 59.

The park will be open from 10am, with rides starting at 10.30am. The Best of British fireworks display will begin from 7pm and the park will close at 9pm.

November 3 to 4 - Alton Towers

Alton Towers' sensational fireworks spectacular is back for 2018.

This event is the last chance visitors will have to enjoy the park's stellar attractions before the 2018 season comes to an end.

Tickets start from just £5 for pass holders, up to £65 for a short break including an overnight stay.

Fireworks start from 7pm with guests advised to arrive on the Front Lawns for 6.45pm.

November 3 - West Mid Showground, Shrewsbury

The annual charity fireworks and bonfire spectacular will be taking place at the Greenhous West Mid Showground and will once again feature two displays on the same night.

Thousands of people attend the event every year which offers a variety of entertainment including a fair and live music.

All proceeds will go to the Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society’s Rural Charity.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children and £25 for a family ticket which would admit two adults and three children.

Gates open at 4pm and the bonfire is lit at 5pm. The first firework display begins at 6.15pm and the final display begins at 7.45pm.

November 3 - Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford

Get fired up at Blists Hill Victorian Town for one of Shropshire's biggest firework events.

As well as the family fireworks display on The Green, new this year will be a fiery performance in the Ironworks by Scarlet Butterfly.

Watch and be amazed by fire eating, fire breathing and fire spinning, as well as molten iron being poured into moulds during the iron casting demonstration in the Foundry.

Tickets cost £8 for children, £11.50 for adults, and £35 for a family of two adults and two children.

Gates open at 6pm, and the firework display will begin at 7.30pm.

November 3 - Albrighton Cricket Club

Enjoy a great bonfire night out for all the family at Albrighton Cricket Club.

The club’s bar will be open with a wide range of drinks on offer, including hot drinks and food to purchase as you enjoy the fireworks

There will also be prizes for the annual Build a Guy Fawkes competition.

Tickets cost £5 per car or £2 per walk in adult.

Bonfire is lit at £6.30pm followed by fireworks.

November 3 - Brogyntyn Park, Oswestry

Oswestry's Brogyntyn Park will once again host a charity bonfire and firework display.

All proceeds from the night go to local charities.

The event will take place from 6pm until 7pm.

November 3 - Alderford Lake, Whitchurch

Enjoy all the fun of the fair as well as fireworks at Alderford Lake.

The event will have tonnes of fun rides for everyone to enjoy, as well as plenty of food and drinks.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £5 for children, and £24 for a family ticket of two adults and two children.

Gates will open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6pm. A sound-sensitive firework display starts at 7pm, followed by the main display at 8pm.

November 3 - Wellington Cricket Club

Now in its 15th year, Wellington Cricket Club’s annual fireworks extravaganza The Big Blast is back.

Fairground rides and games will keep youngsters occupied, while parents can enjoy food from one of the many street traders.

Tickets cost £3 for children and £6 for adults.

Gates open at 5.30pm, with the firework display set to start at 7.30pm.

November 4 - Weston Park, Shifnal

Tickets for the giant Weston Park bonfire are charged per car load.

There is plenty on offer with a fun fair, food stalls and licensed bar all set in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown Parkland.

Tickets cost £16 per car, covering up to six people.

The bonfire is lit at 5.30pm, with firework displays taking place at 6pm and 7.30pm.

November 5 - Oakmeadow School, Bayston Hill

The annual Bayston Hill firework display is on Bonfire Night itself at Oakmeadow School.

As well as the bonfire and fireworks, there will be fairground rides, a barbecue, stalls and a bar.

Tickets can be bought online here and cost £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for children, or £13 for families of two adults and two children.

Children aged two and under are free. All proceeds go to Friends of Oakmeadow School Association.

The gates opposite The Beeches Pub open at 5.30pm and the fireworks start at 7pm.

November 10 to 11 - West Midland Safari Park

The Firework Festival Weekend returns for its tenth year with fireworks, a roaring bonfire, late-night rides and more.

On top of this, vsitors will be able to enjoy the park's attractions such as the brand new Ice Age, Land of the Living Dinosaurs, Lorikeet Landing, Creepy Crawlies, Mark O’Shea’s Reptile World, African Village and the popular Sea Lion Show.

Tickets cost £8 for children and £16 for adults. A child ride wristband costs £8, and an adult ride wristband costs £14.

Doors open at 1pm with last entry at 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 5.45pm, followed by fireworks at 6.30pm.

November 10 - Lower Lacon Caravan Park, Shrewsbury

The Bonfire Weekend returns to Lower Lacon Caravan Park from November 9 to 10, with a bonfire event on November 10.

There will be a family disco on both November 9 and 10, as well as live music in J.A.K.K.S. Barn.

Tickets cost £3 per person on site, and £4 per person off site.

Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm, and fireworks start at 7pm.

November 10 - Bridgnorth Rugby Club

The Firework Extravaganza at Bridgnorth Rugby Club will return for 2018.

Visitors can enjoy live music, a BBQ and pig roast, as well as a fully licensed bar.

Tickets cost £3 for children and £6 for adults.

Gates open at 5pm with the junior display starting at 7pm. The main display will then begin at 7.45pm.

November 11 - Broadoaks Playing Field, Donnington

The annual Donnington bonfire is set to entertain the whole family.

There will be fun rides for little ones, and refreshments to enjoy next to the bonfire.

Tickets cost £2.

Gates open at 4pm with the fire firework display starting at 7pm. The bonfire will be lit at 8pm, followed by a second firework display at 9pm.
