Bridgnorth restaurant Casa Ruiz voted best in England

A Spanish restaurant in Bridgnorth has been rated as the best in England at a national awards ceremony.

Casa Ruiz was honoured as the Best Mediterranean Establishment in England at the awards this week.

The restaurant, on High Street, Bridgnorth, specialises in Spanish cuisine.

Having already won the Best Mediterranean in the Midlands at the awards, the restaurant's manager and chef, who represented the establishment on the night, then received first prize in the national category.

The annual awards recognised the achievements of local suppliers who always provide the community with the freshest of products and specialists who work hard within their establishments to deliver great experiences to their diners.

The accolades were handed out at Manchester's Mercure Piccadilly hotel.

The owners shared the win on their Facebook page, celebrating their achievement.

They posted: "We have Chef Sam and our manager Beth ready for a night at the England Food Awards.

"And so the evening begins."

After winning the awards, the restaurant posted: "We are not just regional winners we won the lot baby! We won the best Mediterranean restaurant in England!" attached with a photo of them holding their trophy and certificate.

A spokesman for the Food Awards, said: "We are very delighted to have welcomed such great finalists and winners at the Food Awards England and we are very happy to hear from our guests that everyone had a lovely night.

"The awards celebrated everything related to food and provided a platform to thank those who have dedicated their whole career in providing us with great gastronomic delights as well as those who help us explore new flavours and world cuisines from Mexican to Oriental.

"We would like to congratulate the winners and finalists for their amazing achievements."
