Self Help Africa has once again teamed up with Shrewsbury Food Festival and six secret restaurants in the town to organise a Secret Supper on April 9.

“A firm favourite in the foodie calendar, this delectable dining experience begins with a welcome drink at Tanners Wines before taking you to three secret restaurants where you’ll be treated to a mystery starter, main course and dessert," she said.

"The locations of the restaurants and the dishes you’ll be eating will be revealed on the night."

The event has raised £30,000 for Self Help Africa since 2014, with many guests returning year on year.

Self Help Africa, based in Shrewsbury, works across eight African countries to help farmers to grow more food, increase their income from farming activities and become self-sufficient.

Katie Powell, marketing manager of Whittingham Riddell Chartered Accountants, who are sponsoring the event, said: “As a Shropshire-based business, we are delighted to be supporting such a wonderful local event in aid of Self Help Africa.

"We are very much looking forward to sampling the many culinary delights that will be on offer, and we hope to see lots of people on the night.”

Tickets for the three-course Secret Supper are £33.50 per person including a welcome drink.

Until May 15 all public donations to Self Help Africa’s Give2Grow appeal will be doubled by the UK government.
