Glittering jewels on show at Whitchurch valuation day
An Antiques Roadshow-style event in Shropshire gave participants the chance to dig out their prized possessions and have them valued.
The event was held at Whitchurch-based Trevanion & Dean Auctioneers & Valuers in the town's Joyce Building.
TV star Christina Trevanion was on hand to give free valuations to people bringing in their jewellery and silver on Friday.
Ms Trevanion said: "It went fantastically well. We had a lovely collection of jewellery and silver brought in. We had a large silver bowl brought in which was valued at £500 to £700. Someone also brought in a lovely silver canteen of cutlery worth between £500 and £700.
"We also had some beautiful gold coins worth £500 and a diamond ring worth between about £3,000 and £5,000.
"We had so many items brought in we are now full up for our next auction on March 19."
Ms Trevanion, along with her business partner Aaron Dean, set up the business at the former Joyce Clocks factory in Station Road last January. She added: "We hold valuations every Monday and Friday, and we are now doing specialist markets such as the jewellery and silver one today.
I valued the jewellery and silver, and Aaron valued everything else.
"We had loads of other items including a pair of Chinese vases worth between £300 and £500.
"It is a special moment when you see the delight in people's eyes when you surprise them with how much something is worth."
The next specialist market on April 15 will focus on coins and medals.
