Gardens across Shropshire open up for charity
A number of gardens will be opening up to visitors tomorrow as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Delbury Hall Walled Garden will be opening in Craven Arms for charity.
The two-acre early Victorian walled garden features large herbaceous borders, a herb garden, shrubbery, demonstration vines and very old fruit trees.
In addition there is a large penstemon and hemerocallis collection. The gardens of Delbury Hall will be accessible unless a private function is being held.
Another garden will be opening in south Shropshire.
The Dower House is a sequence of gardens in various historical styles designed to tell the history of Morville Hall, including turf maze, medieval cloister garden, Victorian rose border, Elizabethan knot garden, Edwardian fruit and vegetable garden, canal garden, and wild garden.
A 60-acre landscaped garden will be opening up to visitors tomorrow.
Hodnet Hall Gardens in Market Drayton features a series of lakes and pools, forest trees, a variety of flowers, and shrubs providing colour throughout season.
There is also a unique collection of big-game trophies in 17th century tearooms and a kitchen garden.
The four-acre garden at Morville Hall will be opening up to visitors tomorrow.
Features include a box parterre, mature shrub borders, pond garden and medieval stew pond.
All proceeds from visits go to National Garden Scheme charities including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Hospices UK, Parkinson’s UK and many other causes supported by the scheme.
