The acclaimed poet will lead a showcase of over 30 performers at this year's Much Wenlock Poetry Festival.

Other names on the bill include Poet Laureate and festival patron

Carol Ann Duffy, former war reporter and MP Martin Bell, and Owen Sheers, Welsh poet and artist in residence for the Welsh Rugby Union.

The three day event is taking place from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7.

Other names include Ian McMillan, who will return to the festival with his son Andrew, also a prize-winning poet.

Organisers said the festival, which is now in its fourth year, is becoming one of the best poetry events in the UK.

Antonia Beck, WPF Producer, said: "Our 2013 programme demonstrates our passion and ambition as we take leaps and bounds towards establishing ourselves as one of the most exciting and dynamic poetry festivals in the UK. As the Poet Laureate and founding patron Carol Ann Duffy says 'Much Wenlock is the perfect place for poetry' – and we prove it."

Children can also enjoy workshops with Kit Wright, author of 'The Magic Box'. There will also be a children's poetry competition. Tickets for festival are now available online at www.wenlockpoetryfestival.org
