James Farina, from Alveley, near Bridgnorth, has written a dark comedy revolving around the boardgame Cluedo and is looking for budding actors to fill key roles.
The 24-year-old, who focuses on horror and thriller films with a comic edge, said 'Leu Doc' would be a dark-comedy.
He said: "I believe film-making is the best way to bring a story to life. I am currently at the end of writing a screenplay for a short film based in and around Bridgnorth and my home village of Alveley.
"I have made many short films over the past six years and, now I have finished a film-making course at Bournemouth University, I'm funding my own projects."
Mr Farina said he had worked on a range of media projects since 2006 including an RSPB environmental awareness documentary, a Dorset Awards Live Event, a Gloucester-based Parkour documentary, a Kate Nash Lyric School documentary and a feature film directed by the production manager of Channel 4, which is set to be shown at Cannes Film Festival 2013.
He said: "Until the end of 2011, my role has been as sound recordist but recently I have been writing and directing my own short films. Living around Bridgnorth all of my life I have come across fantastic locations with huge filming potential."
Auditions are at the end of July, and are open to any actor aged between 18 and 35. To book e-mail jamesmfarina@yahoo.com
