James Farina premiered his short dark-comedy, Leu Doc, at the town's Majestic Cinema, and has now released it on Youtube.

He held auditions for his latest flick in July, saying he believed film-making was the best way to bring a story to life. It was filmed in and around Bridgnorth.

The film has already provoked a positive response from local people and critics, including the Star's movie page editor Carl Jones, who described it as 'clever, and nicely shot'.

James has produced many short films over the past six years and, following the completion of a film-making course at Bournemouth University, he is currently funding his own projects. The film maker has also worked on a range of media projects since 2006.

These include an RSPB environmental awareness documentary, a Dorset Awards live event, a Gloucester-based parkour documentary, a Kate Nash Lyric School documentary and a feature film directed by the production manager of Channel 4, which is set to be shown at Cannes Film Festival 2013.

He said: "Until the end of 2011, my role has been as sound recordist but recently I have been writing and directing my own short films.

"Living around Bridgnorth all of my life I have come across fantastic locations with huge filming potential."
