It's A Love Thing, a story set in the 1980s is about two young schoolchildren's first love, prompted by their shared fondness of sci-fi classic Star Wars.

Boy meets new girl at school. Boy falls in love. Boy gives girl his favourite Star Wars figure. Girl has to leave town due to dad's job. Will boy and girl ever see one another again? That's the concept.

The 45-minute drama, which premiered at Telford's Odeon cinema, has many touching moments, a terrific foot-tapping nostalgic soundtrack for us children of the eighties, and charming turns by child stars Holly Thoupos and Peter Overal who delicately capture the innocence of that awkward first relationship.

Mangotree Films' production manager Claire Hickman, who also has a supporting role in the film, says: "We are organising more screenings in January locally, and would love to hear from any independent cinemas which would like to screen it for us."

The film is also due to be released on DVD and digital download some time in the new year.
