Only Fools And Horses star Boycie – Shropshire actor John Challis – will be following in the footsteps of the world's most-famous secret agent when he helps to raise money for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity during An Evening with Bond at Cineworld in Shrewsbury tonight.

The actor will be among 80 VIP guests at a red carpet screening of Skyfall.

The event is being organised by White 7 Chauffeur Experience and sponsored by Rybrook BWM, in Shrewsbury, which will serve Martinis – shaken, not stirred, naturally – prior to the event.

Mr Challis said he was looking forward to the event and hoped it would raise awareness about the Midlands Air Ambulance.

He said: "We live in rural Shropshire and the Midlands Air Ambulance provides a vital service in our region. It's a real life saver."

The event will feature a charity raffle. A spokesman for the Midlands Air Ambulance said the service served the largest air ambulance area in the UK, comprising Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire; representing a population in excess of six million.

Since flying its first mission in 1991, the charity had saved countless lives.
