The riverside pub with 'the best beer garden views in Shropshire'
As pubs continue to battle the cost of living crisis, the Shropshire Star continues its Love Your Local series which celebrates our local inns.
The Riverside Inn has been described as the pub with the best beer garden views in all of Shropshire - and that 's a claim to fame manager David McGrath doesn't take lightly.
David, originally from Manchester and now living in Worcester but planning on moving to Shrewsbury soon, was the assistant manager of the pub before moving to become the manager of a pub in Worcester, but like "a weird love story", he returned to The Riverside Inn just over three weeks ago where he is now running the place, coming round full-circle.
David, 36, said: "Coming back, it was like a weird love story to return.
"When I left here I thought 'that is it, I've moved on' but to now come back, truthfully I have a soft spot for the pub and so when offered the chance, I jumped at it.
"It has been really good since coming back, almost like I never left.
"There is still some of the same team working here, a lot of the people from when we first opened, and so whilst I have fit right back in, there have also been some changes whilst I was away.
