Sometimes the small things in life can be the most rewarding.

So when Reddit user Mikey Morgan realised he was nearing a momentous occasion on his truck’s odometer, he knew he had to capture it on camera.

Yep, that’s an odometer that has racked up 123,456 miles, with the trip meter beneath it on 789.0 miles.

Mikey first had the idea when his 2007 Frontier reached the 100,000-mile mark.

“I was commuting daily to my university so I was starting to stack miles reasonably fast,” he told the Press Association.

“I quickly did the math that I would need to reset my trip meter at and patiently waited for the day to come.

“I even had alarms set on my phone to keep me alert to my mileage so I wouldn’t miss my chance.

“Finally, when my odometer got to 122,666 miles I was on the highway and had to pull over to the shoulder and drive slowly until it flipped to 122,667.

“After that it was a waiting game to the magic moment.”

And it was a doubly auspicious occasion, coming as it did on the same evening he graduated from college.

He said in a Reddit comment: “I’m not sure which one I was more excited for.”
