Star guest promised for Welshpool senior citizens
Welshpool Senior Citizens club will celebrate its 10th anniversary this month with a star guest at its New Year Party.
Over the last decade the entertainers at the annual event have included television Presenter Paul Hayes, entertainer Tony Barton, World Champion Boxer John H Stracey, comedians - Freddie Parrot Face Davies, Johnnie Casson and Jimmy Cricket; Crackerjack Stars Stu Francis & Don Maclean, Vince Earl from TV's Brookside, Welsh songstress Tammy Jones and Opportunity Knocks winner Berni Flint.
Organiser, Alan Crowe, has promised that this year's guest will be even more extra special to mark the 10th anniversary.
The party will be held on January 29 in the Town Hall at 2pm and is open to anyone aged 60years or over living in Welshpool or any of the surrounding villages.
The £8.50 ticket price, for a two hour show, afternoon tea, a souvenir programme and a draw, is subsidised by fundraising events and sponsorship.
Mr Crowe said: "The star will, as always, be a closely guarded secret but he or she is a true iconic legend of British Variety."
Tickets for the party can be obtained from Flaunt It card shop or Welshpool Jewellers and must be purchased in advance.
