Preparations are underway for the Tenbury Music Festival 2017, which will take place on Saturday, June 17 at The Burgage recreation ground.

First staged by few local music lovers who wanted to raise some money for charity, the one-day event proved a big success for the town from the off with legendary Led Zeppelin front man Robert Plant making a surprise appearance in 2015.

This year organisers say the festival has developed with a host of musicians both local and from further afield, who have come together to helping support Teenage Cancer Trust.

On the main stage will be Mike Sanchez and his Band headlining, supported by Stone Mountain Sinners, Sticky Wicket and Friends including the American singer Beki Brindle, as well as Abraxas, The Alternative Dubstep Orchestra, Arcadia Roots, Abi K and the Roadsters, and The Roustabouts.

On the acoustic stage there will be a mix of fresh new talent alongside one or two old hands, and there will also be a rain marquee so that people can shelter from the weather – or the sun if it gets too hot.

There will also be a stage devoted to local young people's music.

A range of food stalls, a beer tent, a fresh coffee stall and even a cocktail bar with drinks served out the back of an old surfing VW van will be there, with poetry reading, crafts and workshops and the first 150 guests arriving will be entered into a free raffle.

Camping next to the festival, as well as local accommodation, can be booked online via www.tenburymusicfestival.co.uk or at Tenbury tourist Information centre.
