The American girl group was due to perform at Arena Birmingham on Thursday, November 16.

The announcement has come due to singer T-Boz experiencing severe back pain due to an issue with her spine, say organisers.

The city centre venue released the news yesterday evening at just after 5pm, saying the show has been cancelled. On the arena's website, however, a statement from the group says the tour is due to be rescheduled.

The statement on the Arena Birmingham website reads as follows:

"TLC confirmed today that the European leg of their World Tour has unfortunately been postponed.

"The European leg of the tour was scheduled to begin on October 16 in Hamburg, Germany and conclude on November 16 in Birmingham, UK.

"T-Boz is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform. Ms Watkins has cervical disc problems in her spine that have advanced to the point of having significant pain symptoms due to nerve compression.

"Thionne is currently working with her orthopaedic surgeon who recommended the postponement. TLC are devastated that they have to wait to perform for their European fans after the long awaited debut show in London last May.

"TLC would like to thank all of their fans across Europe for their continued support and understanding.

"T-Boz said 'Chilli and I are totally devastated that we have been left with no choice but to postpone our debut European tour. We would like to thank our fans for staying so loyal and ensure them that we will be back just as soon as we can reschedule.'

"As the tour is currently working on rescheduling the European dates, fans should return their tickets to point of purchase for a full refund."
