Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry to play Birmingham as Hollywood Vampires in first-ever UK tour
Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry will play Birmingham this summer in their first-ever UK tour.
The supergroup trio, named Hollywood Vampires, will perform at the Genting Arena.
Hollywood icon Johnny, shock-rock deity Alice and Aerosmith guitarist Joe will play the city centre venue this June.
The story of the Hollywood Vampires began in the 1970s on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar and Grill’s upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through Los Angeles.
"To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," explained Alice Cooper, a founding member of the original Vampires.
"I would walk in on a typical night and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon - who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffeur - Bernie Taupin, and Mickey Dolenz would be there."
Alice and Johnny then brought back the band - minus the drinking - and named it Hollywood Vampires.
The band will be supported by fellow rock icons The Darkness and The Damned.
The three groups will play Birmingham on June 16.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am, priced between £52.05 and £60.53.
