Local bands prepare to rock Bridgnorth's Music and Arts Festival

Local bands are preparing to rock out on stage, as organisers announce the line up for Bridgnorth's Music and Arts Festival.

Organisers have prepared an evening dedicated purely to rock music, with seven bands set to perform at The Bear Inn in Northgate on August 26.

Alien Embassy will kick things off, the dedicated musicians are well known for their catchy, well known hits which should appeal to all music lovers, whether you are a rock lover or not.

Black Bear's kiss will take centre stage from 3.30pm onwards.

The band are based in the West Midlands and formed back in 2016. The group are well known on the rock scene, and have wealth of Facebook followers and sparkling reviews to date.

The band is made up of five talented musicians, who guaranteed to get your foot stomping or even your head banging.

"This is a new venue for our Rock Day and we're sure Rock the Bear will be a huge success," said co-organiser Nigel Gill.

He added: "This year's Rock Day line-up is superb, most of the bands are based in the Midlands and some have played at the festival before.

"Rock the Bear will be a great event at a great venue and we look forward to welcoming all our festival rock fans!" added Nigel.

Voodoo Sioux will be making a return this year after performing at the festival in 2016.

This band are a bass driven, hard rock band who have a superb stage presence. The band can usually be seen sporting native American head wear and face paint, while they deliver an impressive and energetic perform.

Other artists include Embassy Jonn Walker, Novustory, Red Spektor and These Wicked Rivers.

The festival runs from August 17 to 27, with events being staged at numerous venues all around the town.

As always, all festival events are free admission and donations collected from festival-goers will go to this year's chosen festival charities MIND and the Bridge Youth Centre in Bridgnorth.

Organisers would also like to remind visitors that camping is available this year.
