Birmingham gig and new record for P.O.D.

The San Diego four-piece will be at the Second City's O2 Institute on March 7 as part of an extensive European Full Circle Tour to promote their new album - Circles - out next month on November 16.

P.O.D. - AKA Payable On Death - have been prolific since releasing 1994's debut record Snuff The Punk. Their hit records include the phenomenal The Fundamental Elements of Southtown from 1999, 2001's commercial success Satellite and the furiously funky Murdered Love from 2012. They have sold 12 million records worldwide and have been Grammy-nominated three-times.

Their hit singles are also prominent - many from the Satellite era. The single of the same title was a success, prompting a hit remix from Paul Oakenfold, while the religious-infused Alive saw chart success across the Western world and there was also success in the US alternative charts with Youth Of The Nation at No.1, Sleeping Awake, Lost In Forever, Rock The Party (Off The Hook) and Boom.

Talking about the upcoming tour, frontman Sonny Sandoval said: "We haven’t been able to tour Europe and the UK as much as we’d like so this tour with our friends Alien Ant Farm and 68 is very special to us and long overdue. We plan on destroying these shows so don’t miss it.”

And discussing the upcoming Circles - their 10th record as a band, Sandoval added: "On Circles, we didn't limit ourselves and say, 'hey, we need to please the metal crowd, or the hardcore crowd, or the punk crowd'. We just wanted to play and write songs that we hope are relevant and catchy to a new audience, while at the same time still being true to ourselves.

"We're looking for answers and we're going to people to help us get through things - but at the same time, no-one's perfect. Everybody's going through stuff, and we're all kind of on this same level and the same journey of experience and just trying to figure out our course of life."

Alien Ant Farm also enjoyed big UK chart success in the early 00s. Their remake of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal topped the charts in the US and reached No.3 in the UK, while follow-up single Movies was also a commercial hit.

Their last release was 2015 record Always And Forever.
