The announcement comes after the 37-year-old star completed her debut UK tour earlier this year, which sold out entirely.

The show will see Sheridan perform a series of her own music, including hits from her new album.

Sheridan recently released her second album A Northern Soul, and starred in ITV primetime documentary Coming Home.

The Lincolnshire actress rose to fame in a variety of different sitcoms such as The Royle Family, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Gavin and Stacey, and Benidorm.

She has also starred in a series of dramas such as Mrs Biggs, Cilla, The C Word and The Moorside.

In 2015, Sheridan was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama.

Sheridan Smith will perform at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on March 21.
