Pupils and staff at Telford Priory School, in Wrockwardine Wood, are putting the final touches to their futuristic adaptation of the hit musical that features the band's best known songs.

Written by Ben Elton, the show features all of the classic Queen songs presented as part of a story where the music saves the world from computer-generated pop music.

Performances for the community are being held on Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm at the school, in New Road. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1.50 for children under 16.

Seats can be booked at the school by telephoning 01952 386400 or emailing via info@telfordprioryschool.co.uk.

It is being staged by 30 pupils, aged from 11 to 16, who have been working on it twice a week since the start of the school year.

Drama teacher Vicky Blakeman says: "Telford Priory School really values the arts and have invested in a professional set and lighting designer from M3 Productions to add the wow factor to the show.

"The school choir is well known for its student vocalists who regularly sing at events for the mayor of Telford and Wrekin, and other community events. This show sees them perform in a whole new light."
