The announcement follows the release of the Uxbridge quartet's debut E.P. Headspace.

The group recently released the album-titled single via Chess Club Records, that received it's first play on Annie Mac's BBC Radio One show.

The track follows singles Monday, Sea Blue and Lay Down from the record.

With work well underway for their debut album - including more writing sessions with James Dring, Larry Hibbit, and Luke Fitton - vocalist Ophelia Booth is excited at how Bloxx’s sound is progressing.

She said: “The new songs are all so different. And while we still have Kings of Leon-style guitars, melody and arrangement-wise it’s definitely a bit poppier.

"Also we want to open ourselves up so we stop getting called grunge.”

“I’m a Cancer, so I’m a very emotional person - or so my girlfriend always tells me.

"I’m naturally very straightforward in my lyrics but I’ve really stepped it up a gear with the album.

"Because I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be able to sing about ‘Spoons for the rest of my career.”

Bloxx will play Birmingham's Sunflower Lounge on October 5.
