Whitchurch's Jack dancing for joy after winning world championship - with video
A talented Whitchurch schoolboy has been crowned world street dance champion for the second time at an international competition.
Jack Price, nine, qualified for the global competition after winning regional and national competitions.
And at the recent UDO World Street Dance Championships, he was crowned best in the world for his age group.
Jack, who attends Whitchurch Junior School, also won the competition in 2014.
And last year he had the opportunity of a lifetime – to perform live on stage with pop superstar Justin Bieber as part of his Purpose Show in Manchester.
His father Steve Price said: “Jack is very dedicated and absolutely loves dancing.
"He goes for lessons two to three times a week at VIA Dance in Crewe.
"He really enjoys it and has made loads of friends through dancing."
The young dancer has been performing since he was five-years-old.
Mr Price said Jack had to compete against 22 competitors from all over the world in his category in the final.
He added: "He had to qualify by winning regional events.
"Jack has done so well and we are really proud.
"In the final he had to dance to music chosen by the judges. He could not prepare so it was a tough final.
"We were over the moon to hear he had won.
"He was given a huge trophy, £30 in vouchers and a world championship hoodie."
