Actors are off the hook
The Attfield Theatre plans for its final production of the season are an absolute farce.
The Oswestry-based group has chosen to send the audience laughing into the summer recess with a farce from the pen of the master of the genre, Derek Benfield.
Director Michaela Turner said Off the Hook is the story of three crooks who descent on a shabby country house hotel to recover some loot stashed by an accomplice from a previous robbery.
To help them they spring a man called Mr Spook from prison.
"Not everyone is who they seem and along with some eccentric staff who would not be out of place in Fawlty Towers and further dubious visitors, it leads to some hilarious consequences."
The cast has had thorough and intensive rehearsals before the play which hits the Attfield stage from May 7-12 at 7.45 pm each night.
Tickets priced £8 can be obtained from the company’s box office at The Guildhall, telephone 01691 680222.
