New CBBC show will give young viewers the chance to quiz pop stars
The Saturday morning spectacular also promises games, sketches and a whole lot of gunge!
Young CBBC viewers will have the chance to quiz pop stars in the channel’s new Saturday morning show.
So far titled Live & Dangerous, the programme promises a weekly spectacular of celebrity guests, games, sketches and buckets of gunge.
It will take over the CBBC channel on Saturday mornings from September, with a run of 12 two-hour shows.
Creators have promised that children watching at home will have the chance to get involved themselves by playing games and sending their own questions to the special star guests via CBBC digital platforms.
CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor said: “The presentation team are the beating heart of CBBC and their expanded role on Saturday mornings to deliver a live extravaganza will cause great excitement for our audience.
“We have been using new technology to connect with the six-12s for some time now and I’m proud to be in a position to offer unique live participation opportunities which will make CBBC an even more special destination on Saturdays.”
While presenters have yet to be decided, quirky channel regular Hacker T. Dog is already gearing up for a special part on the show.
Broadcast from MediaCityUK in Manchester, Live & Dangerous follows in the footsteps of previous programmes Going Live! and Saturday Superstore, bringing young viewers a line-up of favourite CBBC shows to start the weekend.
