O’Carroll compares co-star’s departure to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Man Utd
Rory Cowan has been working with Brendan O’Carroll on Mrs Brown’s Boys since the early nineties.
Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll has compared the departure of co-star Rory Cowan to Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Manchester United.
Cowan played the son of O’Carroll’s character Agnes Brown for the final time at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday.
In a statement O’Carroll labelled him a “legend”, adding:”To all of us it feels like Ronaldo leaving Man United. But Ronaldo went on to amazing success which I know Rory will too.”
“He’s a legend.”
Cowan, who played hairdresser Rory Brown, said he had grown “tired” of the hit BBC comedy and stage show.
He told the Irish Mirror: “I got tired of it, I haven’t been happy for the last two years working there.”
Cowan’s agent had told the Mirror Online his client’s split from the hit BBC comedy and popular stage show had been “amicable”.
The actor had starred as Rory Brown since 2001 and has been working with O’Carroll since the early nineties.
