He’s the freshest face of the Tattoo Fixers clan, but he’s already had quite the tricky cover-up to deal with.

A new tattoo artist will join E4’s Tattoo Fixers for the summer series – Tattoo Fixers on Holiday – and he has said he felt nervous to join the existing line-up.

Glen Carloss, a 30-year-old artist and tattoo studio owner, has also told of the “creepy” first job he was given on the series, which saw him have to cover a bizarre sex-related family motto.

The National Television Award-nominated series sees inking experts Jay Hutton, Steven “Sketch” Porter and Alice Perrin cover up disastrous tattoos with extraordinary creations, helped along the way by receptionist Paisley Billings, and has been popular with audiences since it launched in 2015.

He told the Press Association about two brothers whose surname is Tuckfield, and their eerie etchings.

Carloss said: “It was a little bit strange. They’ve got a family motto and when they sleep with a girl, they use that motto.

“It’s something the whole family uses, not just the kids – the dad too. It’s a little bit creepy.

“But I think they wanted to put a stop to that, so I covered it up for them, and I think they’re now thinking of a new family motto.”

“The strangest thing is the dad used it on the mum! On more than one occasion too, it’s a little bit weird.”

Carloss said he is “really excited but really nervous” about joining the Tattoo Fixers family, particularly because of the audience reaction.

“I’m mostly nervous about the public’s reaction, it’s such a well-known show and all the artists are so well-liked,” he said.

“I feel like I’ve fitted in really well with the artists, but it’s whether the public think that”

Previously an electrician, he quit to travel the world and fell in love with the craft.

Having taken on an apprenticeship and worked in a renowned studio in Belgium, he returned to Surrey to open his own studio, Ladies and Gentleman Tattoo, before being spotted by the show’s producers on social media.

Carloss will join the team for the next series of Tattoo Fixers, set to air later this year.

Tattoo Fixers on Holiday will start later in July on E4.
