Cowell among the guests as Sony’s Rob Stringer scoops top award

Artists who have worked with Rob Stringer paid tribute to him at the Music Industry Trusts ceremony.

Simon Cowell and the Manic Street Preachers were among the stars who turned out to see Sony Music Entertainment’s global CEO presented with a coveted award.

Rob Stringer was given the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award at a ceremony packed with performances from stars such as Harry Styles and George Ezra.

He was presented with the accolade by Nicky Wire of Manic Street Preachers – a band Stringer signed in 1991 as they were starting out.

Guests watched a tribute video celebrating Stringer, with personal messages from music heavyweights like Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Adele, Celine Dion, John Legend, Pharrell, Solange and Sade.

Attendees also included Kirsty Young, Gary Kemp, Paloma Faith, Mark Ronson, The Script, Hozier and London Grammar.
